Scores of tributes in Portsoy mark the anniversary of Michael Gray's death in Peaky Blinders
FLOWERS and tributes have been laid at the spot where Peaky Blinders character Michael Gray was shot, one year on from his death being televised.
Part of the hit show's sixth season was filmed in Portsoy, with Michael Gray – a cousin of the Shelby brothers – shot dead in the village, which was masking as the island of Miquelon.
The programme that Michael – played by actor Finn Cole – was shot by Tommy Shelby in was filmed during lockdown and was televised on April 3, 2022.
A year on, dozens of slates have been placed on the side of a wall at Portsoy Harbour, with floral tributes left on the ground below.
"On this spot on 3rd April 2022, Michael Gray was killed by the Peaky Blinders. Rest in peace Michael. You will never be forgotten," one tribute reads.
There are poems and words of remembrance at the location. One slate reads: "As I write this poem, send my love to you, remember I'll always be in love with you.
"Treasure these few words till we're together, keep all my love forever. P.S. I love you."
Another says: "Can't you see I love you. Please don't break my heart in two.
"I'm not made of wood and I don't have a wooden heart."
It's unclear when tributes were laid, or how far people have travelled to pass on their regards.
