Good times at the Gordon Riding for the Disabled Association fun day
PONIES-a-plenty delighted visitors at a Gordon Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) family fun day at Tweeddale, Keithhall estate on Saturday.
There were pony and rider demonstrations of equine therapy and training, face-painting, even paint- a- pony, this last proving particularly popular with young folk.
Young Isla Ingram used her artistic talents painting on a very patient Juno.
In the arena coach Valerie Cooper expained the methods used to get riders used to handling their mount which leads to a building of self-confidence and achievement through the unique bond developed between rider and mount.
A spokesperson for Gordon RDA said: "A massive heartfelt thank you goes to all the volunteers and visitors for our Family Gala Fun Day event.
" It was fantastic to see Tweeddale buzzing and everyone having fun.
"Special thanks to Bobs Buddies, Garry Seagraves the Magician, Chalmers Mackay Music School, Dossett's Butchers, MrWhippy, Scratch Squad Flyball Team all our lovely stall holders and of course to our wonderful ponies who were all on their best behaviour and thoroughly enjoyed their pampering from their two legged friends they made.
"We are yet to announce an exact total from all our donations but we have raised over £1000 for the charity which is just phenomenal."
