Colin and Jason Banks take the Garioch 2 Bowl pairs 2024 title

Colin and Jason Banks have taken the Garioch 2 Bowl pairs 2024 title writes Mike Barron.

It took a tie break to beat Alan Rough and Lee Collins 6-7, 7-5 and 2-0.

Rough/Collins were 2023/24 champions and Set 1 started with 3 shots to Jason, but it was 5-5 at 6th end. The next two ends were single scores to Lee Collins, who led 7-5. The 9th end was close. Jason could just score a single. Score 7-6 to Rough/Collins, and set 1.

The 2nd 9 end set was like the first. Banks led 3-0 at first, then 5-1 at 4th . Collins then scored 2 shots and a single, but was still 4-5 down. Ends were fairly even from then, but Banks came home 7-5. Score Collins 1 set Banks 1.

The best of three ends went to Colin and Jason. They won both 1st and 2nd ends and they now represent Garioch in Scottish playdowns 2024/25. Jason who won Garioch Singles is already in Scottish playdowns, and there could be more to come.
