Aberdeenshire Elections - Ward 2: Troup
The second ward in the spotlight is Ward 2: Troup
As a three councillor ward, the three sitting councillors in 2017 Mark Findlater, Ross Cassie and Hamish Partridge all stood for re-election.
With a 44 per cent turn out Conservative Mark Findlater was voted in after the first round, with Hamish Partridge by round four and Ross Cassie crossing the line in round six.
The results were as follows per voting round -
Conservative - Mark Findlater (incumbent) 1535

Labour Ray Stephen 136 201
Electorate: 7902 Valid: 3427 Spoilt: 68 Quota: 857 Turnout: 44.20 per cent
For 2021 Ward 2: Troup (Three elected) has an electorate of 7640 and is cited by political pundits as a potential ward gain for the Conservatives as, with councillor Partridge not standing, and only one candidate for the other parties, it would require a very strong vote for the Greens or Liberal Democrats to deny this.
Candidates are -
Ian Bailey, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
Ross Cassie, SNP.
Mark Findlater, Scottish Conservatives.
Richard Menard, Scottish Conservatives.
Simon Scott, Scottish Greens.
