Watch: Three north-east farming stalwarts clock up over 100 years of service

THE Royal Northern Agricultural Society's Spring Show at Thainstone provided president Alan Cumming with an opportunity to explain about the work of the Society.

With hundreds of visitors attending the highly successful event it also saw a warm welcome for new show secretary Fiona Davidson who stepped into the role after the retirement of Alison Argo.

There was also the opportunity to recognise the long service of several stalwarts of the north-east farming community.

This included presentations of Royal Highland and Agricultural Long Service certificates and badges to three recipients this year.

The Royal Highland Show's Rodney Blackhall from Banchory who runs two well known flocks of Texels and Blue Faced Leicester made presentations to James Shaw for 35 years service with W P Younson of Westhill, Robert Cowe for 30 years service with Glenkindie Estate and George Riddoch for 30 years with G&B Riddoch of Old Rayne.
