Rehearsals are well under way for Banff Academy’s summer show which this year is Rock of Ages.

It’s about a smalltown girl – Sherrie – who moves to LA to become an actress, she meets Drew who aspires to be a musician, and they go on a musical adventure filled with music and dance.

The narrator, Lonny keeps everything on the move with his outrageous humour and friendship with the bar owner Dennis.

Sherrie is played by Rebecca Mckinnon; Drew by Caleb Wiseman; Dennis by teacher Jamie Milne; and Lonny by Phoebe Wiseman

Justice owns the Venus a Go Go – the club that Sherrie ends up working in, she is a mother figure who takes in the lost girls in sunset strip – she is played by Alana Cameron

The club is under threat of shutdown by two powerful German developers – Hilda and Franz Kleinmann played by Chloe Horne and Molly Tulett respectively. So Stacee Jaxx and his band Arsenal are asked to play a gig to save the club which leads to lots of fun and laughs.

The story is set to loads of 80s rock music, which a live band will be performing.

The show will be performed at the school on Friday, June 14, with doors opening at 6.45pm and on Saturday, June 15 with doors opening at 12.30pm for the matinee and 6.45pm for the evening show.

Tickets are available from the Banff Academy office.
