Hiya pals ! - Gary:Tank Commander returns to lead panto cast in Jack and the Beanstalk at His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen

Aberdeen Performing Arts and Crossroads Pantomimes have today announced that Gary: Tank Commander will be returning to entertain the troops at His Majesty’s Theatre this festive season, alongside the return of last year’s stellar cast in this year’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.

Gary:Tank Commander is the Scottish BAFTA award-winning creation of actor and writer Greg McHugh who will once again join beloved panto Dame Alan McHugh, who returns for his 20th year as Dame Trot and comic actor and River City Star Paul J Corrigan as Pat the Cow. Actor, CBeebies star and Aberdeen’s own Danielle Jam is back as The Spirit of the Beans, alongside actor and comedienne Julie Coombe as Mrs Blunderbore. Completing the cast are Aberdeen actors Michael Karl-Lewis and Jemma Ferries, who are back to charm their home crowd as Jack and Princess Jill.

Aberdeen Performing Arts Chief Executive, Sharon Burgess, said: “After a tremendous response to last year’s panto with this spectacular cast, we’re delighted to welcome them back for the gigantic family adventure that is Jack and the Beanstalk! We can’t wait to say ‘Hiya!’ again to Gary and the gang for another spectacular Aberdeen panto. Come and join us for some fee-fi-fo-fun this festive season!”

Jack and the Beanstalk is staged by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, led by Chief Executive Michael Harrison, and the creative team behind last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty.

Michael Harrison, said: “I’m thrilled that we’re able to welcome back our wonderful Aberdeen panto cast for another year. It’s a testament to the City’s love for these wonderful actors that they’re back – this year to defeat Giant Blunderbore! As always, the panto will be packed with special effects, which this year will include a 3D journey through the Giant’s castle!” Follow Jack and Jill, and climb a beanstalk of gigantic proportions to cloudland in the spectacular family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. Doomed to sell their trusty cow, will the gang outwit the evil giant and win riches beyond their wildest dreams? Featuring laughs, music, special effects and bundles of audience participation, this is the panto you’ve bean waiting for!
