Two suspects due in court after Elgin Bus Station assault which caused ‘facial injury’

A 20-year-old and a 23-year-old have been charged with assault after an incident at Elgin Bus Station yesterday.

Police confirmed that the older man sustained a facial injury, but did not need medical treatment.

Both suspects are due to appear in private at Elgin Sheriff Court today (April 3).

A police spokesperson said they attended a “disturbance” at the bus station yesterday afternoon.

“We were called around 4pm on Tuesday, 2 April, to a report of a disturbance in the St Giles Road area of Elgin,” the Police Scotland spokesperson said.

“A 23-year-old man sustained a facial injury but did not require medical treatment.

“The 23-year-old man, along with a 20-year-old man, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“They are due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 3 April, 2024.”

No ambulances were dispatched in relation to the incident, a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed.
