Banff Fire Station presents festive collection donations to charities

Banff Fire Station has handed over the donations made during its Christmas collection to charities, which totalled £3300.

The crew toured the town, Whitehills and Ladysbridge in the run up to the festive period last year.

In an online post the fire station said: “We were truly blown away by the support from the communities of Banff, Whitehills, Ladysbridge and beyond this year and we are incredibly grateful we managed to raise a grand total of £3300.

“This has once again broke the record and is the most we have ever raised in a year.

“Thank you all so much for contributing.”

The charities which received a share of the funds raised were:

• The Fire Fighters Charity

• Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust

• KidZone Banff

• Whitehills Playing Field

• Scoobys After School Club

• Prostate Cancer UK

The fire station added: “We handed over the last of our cheques from our Christmas charity collection to one of our ex-firefighters Brian Lamb. Brian accepted the cheque on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK.

“Brian and his colleagues from Refresco in Macduff are taking part in The Kiltwalk in Aberdeen on June 2 and are raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
