10 events to entertain you in Aberdeenshire this May Day weekend

There’s a lot going on across the north-east this weekend as May Day approaches.

TURRIFF - Friends of Turriff and Banff MS Group coffee morning takes place at the Legion from 10am- noon on Saturday, May 4. Adults £3, children £1.

ROTHIENORMAN - Saturday 4th May, sees Monymusk AFC play divisional rivals Meldrum United in the semi-final of the Dickie Cup at 18:30, in what promises to be another close contest. The Greenview Centre (Bowling Club) will be open from 16:30 until 22:30 with a licensed bar.

MONYMUSK - Scottish Variety Concert with Ian Thow including Allan Taylor and Moira Stewart as special guests along with members of The Garioch Fiddlers, Monymusk Hall Saturday 4 at 7.30pm (Doors Open 7pm) Adults £10 / Children £5. CULLEN - As part of the Grampian Wellbeing Festival, Saturday 4 sees a seven-mile walk along a beautiful stretch of coastline, journeying between cliff top and shore between Cullen and Portsoy. Bustling bird life and coastal wildflowers abound, with seal and dolphin sightings always a possibility. Previous coastal cliff walking experience is essential and a reasonable level of fitness is required as there are some steep ascents and descents, and much of the coastal path is very narrow and can be quite uneven in places. FRASERBURGH - Saturday 4 - indoor car boot sale fundraiser for roof repair from 11am - 3pm at the Legion, School Street, Fraserburgh.

INVERURIE - Sunday May-Hem at the Drouthy Laird - Over 25s only 80s 90s and 00s disco from 1pm -6pm. Tickets from the Drouthy Laird, Inverurie.

HUNTLY - If you are heading to Huntly for the huge Huntly Farmers' Market on May 4 why not book yourself onto a tour of Huntly Development Trust’s beautiful rescued building Number 30. This is an opportunity to have a look around and see the possibilities of this remarkable space. MAY DAY MONDAY

MACDUFF - Wednesday May 10, 60th anniversary Garden Party concert from 1.30pm to 3pm at Macduff Primary School. Refreshments available for purchase, bring own seating if possible.
