A BRAND-NEW festival - headlined by 70s pop legends The Bay City Rollers - is set to rock Banff Castle this summer.

The Banff Castle Rocks festival, brought to the town by the organisers of Keith’s Friendly Fest, will take place on Saturday, August 31.

The one-day event, taking place within the castle’s grounds, boasts an exciting line up and will be headlined by Scottish pop group The Bay City Rollers.

"It is great to be bringing an amazing line up to this part of Aberdeenshire and create what will be a memorable day."

The UK’s top Oasis tribute band Definitely Oasis, who have a following of over 30,000 on social media, are also coming to Banff.

They are joined by hugely popular Stereophonics tribute The Phonics and Abba tribute Voyage, formally known as Abba A Rival.

Mark Lenthall, Marketing Director, added: "Music fans in the north-east of Scotland often have to travel to the big cities, so we're delighted to be bringing this incredible event to Aberdeenshire.
